DISCLAIMER: I'm not going to plug this into each individual story, so I'll do it here. Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are the work of Akira Toriyama. I'm not sure about GT, but it also belongs to someone other than me. I have no affiliation with any of the corporations or individuals involved in making/producing/distributing the show or the manga.
NOTES: Like many other American DB fans, I've been exposed to both the Pioneer dub and various fansubs. And, I've been influenced by the work of my favorite fanfiction authors. So, while I will do my best to be consistent in terms of the spelling of different names, some will be the dub version (i.e. Vegeta and Krillin) and others will be the sub version (i.e. Vejiitasei and Tenshinhan). Why? Well, call it preference. I'm used to seeing Vegeta spelled like this (which emphasizes the pun on "Vegetable"), but I'd rather call his home planet "Vejiitasei" then "Planet Vegeta," which sounds kinda funny to me. Also, I'll be interjecting a few Japanese words and suffixes here and there, so here's a list of the ones I think will come up throughout my fanfiction. I'm not completely sure about the spelling, so forgive me:
Suffixes
-san - attached to a name to denote respect
-sama - attached to a name to denote great respect
-chan - suffix for endearment
-kun - suffix for endearment
-sei - planet (i.e. Nameksei is "Planet Namek")
-jin - person/people of the word attached to it (i.e. Namekseijin refers to either the Namek race, or an individual of that race.)
Words
Otousan (Tousan) - Dad
Okassan (Kassan)- Mom
Kachan - Mommy (I'm not sure if this is even a word, but one character will use this term)
Niichan - Brother
Neechan - Sister
Ojiisan - Grandfather
Juuanagou - Number Seventeen
Juuachigou - Number Eighteen
Jinzouningen - Artificial Humans / Cyborgs
Kuso - Damn (or something similar)

Sensei - Teacher (remember Karate Kid?)
Senshi - Warrior/Soldier
Moshi moshi - I'm not actually sure what it means, but it's a telephone greeting
Gomen (nasai) - Sorry
Ouji - Prince
Ou - King
Kami - God (I'm not sure if the word "Kami" actually means "god", or if it's simply a proper name. But here, it?s the title for the Earth Guardian.)
